MarghERita Call: 2 New Projects Approved by the Project Committee

Last June, the project committee established by regional resolution approved two new projects submitted under the call published by the Emilia-Romagna Region for the free use of “marghERita,” the Big Data Platform funded by FSC resources, owned by the Region and managed by Lepida, available to all Public Administrations in the territory.

Both projects are developed in the healthcare sector and leverage Large Language Models (LLMs) to optimize the management of health data, particularly starting from electronic health records.

• The CODIFICA SDO project (Hospital Discharge Records) was submitted by Azienda USL Bologna. Its goal is to improve the efficiency and accuracy of ICD9-CM coding for diagnoses and procedures, supporting healthcare personnel in compiling Hospital Discharge Records (SDO).
• The HEAL project, submitted by Azienda Ospedaliera di Bologna, aims to generate a draft of the patient discharge letter to assist healthcare staff and physicians in preparing the final version.

Please note that until December 31, 2025, it is still possible to participate in the Emilia-Romagna Region’s call by submitting new projects to be deployed on marghERita.
